How Educational Leaders Might Use Blogs

In the technological age in which we live in, blogging is an excellent method to keep students, parents and the community up to date on news and events that are taking place in our classrooms, our school building, and with programs related to our campus.  Blogging is also a great way for educators to journal experiences and share ideas with other educators.  Discussions on topics in which an administrator wishes to learn the perspectives and opinions of the teachers of his / her campus can also be done through blogging.

  1. I think blogging is a great way to learn the perspectives and opinions of staff! I also think it is a great communication tool. Parents don't always read notes, but if they could check the blog on their phone or email, they might be more likely to read them.

  2. I think journaling for administrators is a great idea...especially new administrators. It can be therapeutic....the administrator can look back at their first year and adjust things that didn't work. With all the stress of a new position, school and coworkers it might be difficult to recall the areas of struggle and achievement.
